Why this group?
Because this is what we missed, when we became parents.
Where could we go, with all our questions? All these new feelings and experiences?
Were they normal? Or was it ‘adoption’?
The dream was to create a group where we parents could meet other parents. Over a cup of tea.
With, and sometimes without, our children milling about us, as we as parents chatted about this momentous change that had happened to us. Within us.
Preferably with other adopters who instinctually ‘get it’, and who didn’t judge.
Especially not while we are finding our feet.
Informal. Friendly. Regularly. Reflective.
One mother’s journey towards this group is described in the blog entry Becoming Charlie’s mum.
